KEROC’s agricultural activities are mainly located around Bonne Voisine, in the Aube region of France.
Bonne Voisine
Approximately 900 hectares are associated with agricultural activities around Bonne Voisine, in the Champagne plain. The operation brings together the land, farming activity, buildings and equipment required for agriculture.
Bonne Voisine is the Group’s main agricultural operation. Farming remains central to decisions about land and buildings. Complementary activities are assessed against their compatibility with agricultural uses and the needs of the site.
Land and farming
Land management takes account of soil quality and use. Crop rotations, climatic conditions, equipment needs and markets for production are considered in organising the farming operation.
Management combines decisions for each farming season with investments that span several years. Land condition, work organisation and the availability of buildings and machinery form part of this assessment.
Equipment projects are assessed against farming needs: storage, handling, movement around the site and working conditions. Their relevance is considered in relation to production, intended use and running costs.
Agricultural buildings and equipment
Buildings support the agricultural operation. Their maintenance, adaptation and equipment are reviewed with farming requirements in mind. Storage and handling needs may lead to proposed improvements, depending on production and site organisation.
Rooftop photovoltaic installations complement farming. Agro-industrial activities and other energy uses may also be considered where they meet the site’s needs. These possible developments remain subject to feasibility and the relevant investment decisions.
TOLONA, Republic of the Congo
KEROC is also present in the Republic of the Congo through its subsidiary TOLONA, which has been developing an agricultural operation since 2011.
Activities include perennial crops and adapting production to local conditions and markets. Development takes account of the equipment required and the organisation of crops. This presence complements the Group’s European agricultural operations.
